No, the price we quoted you for the project will only change if there is a change in the scope of work that we discussed with you before starting the project. For instance, if we agreed to shred 50 standard-sized boxes (12″ x 12″ x 15″), and we were told that there is an elevator and loading dock available. However, on the day of the project, we discover that the loading dock is under construction, the elevator is out of order, and there are 200 boxes in the attic instead of 50. In such a scenario, our Shred Northwest operator will notify us before starting the project so that we can discuss the situation with you and come to a mutual agreement before proceeding. We take pride in being transparent and fair in our pricing policies.
Our goal is to provide a seamless experience with no unexpected costs for our clients. We prefer to arrive at a project that meets our expectations, and we understand that you don’t want any surprises in your bill. We take into account small variations in volume and condition in the original quote, so that any small increases in quantity or changes in conditions do not result in price surprises. For example, if we quote you for up to 50 boxes and you have 60 boxes, we will charge you the per box rate for the additional 10 boxes. However, if there are significant changes in scope since we last spoke, such as a different location, additional boxes, or challenging access, we will contact you beforehand to discuss any changes in pricing.
PAPER PREP
The answer varies depending on the shredding method and the type of x-rays you have. If we are shredding on-site and you have x-rays, they will most likely need to be removed. However, if we are shredding off-site, we can do the sorting for you. It is crucial that you inform us if you have x-rays as it may render the entire load unrecyclable.
Modern digital x-rays are made of plastic and have no value. We shred them and dispose of the remnants. Traditional analog x-rays, on the other hand, contain trace amounts of silver that we can recycle for you through a destruction process. Depending on the market price of silver commodities, we may even be able to do this at no charge. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 435-680-5982, and we will work out the details for you.
In most cases, you don’t need to remove paper from binders as our team will take care of it. However, we will inquire about the condition of the paper during the quoting process. Some papers may be bound together in books or complicated fasteners, such as 8-12 inch “books” of older “green bar” style of paper reporting with wires. These must be removed to avoid contaminating the paper. Similarly, 3-ring binders also need to be taken out. Rest assured, if you inform us about the scope of the project in advance, there will be no surprises for either party. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call at 435-680-5982.
At Shred St. George, we strive to provide our customers with a hassle-free experience and avoid charging for small extras. Our quotes are transparent and reliable, and we stand by them. For further information about our pricing policies, please refer to this page.
We can accommodate the shredding of a few CDs, but if you have a significant number of CDs, tapes, or hard drives, please inform us beforehand. A large quantity of CDs can affect the integrity of paper fiber, and as a result, we will need to include a separate non-fiber media destruction component in our proposal.
